What Is All This About: Thesis? Word 2007? Help For Students? Microsoft Office?
The idea to setup a website to help student with common problems encountered when working with Microsoft Office products formed over the years...
During my first years in college I started taking notes from specifically one lecture and used Word to convert my notes into electronic format. At some point my professor approached me and hired me as his "little helper" to officially record notes during the lecture and present him with a manuscript at the end of the semester.
Growing Popularity of Experiment Protocols
Another instance that kind of made me an infamous character at college was that I submitted my course protocols in computer-generated form rather than the commonly used hand-written protocols. Eventually, I decided to create my own website funnycreature.de where I offered all my manuscripts and course protocols for download. In the near future I plan to migrate all the downloads to this site.
Transition To Work-Related Use Of Microsoft Office Products
My constant use of Microsoft Office made me quite proficient and I discovered a lot of helpful tools and practices that seem tedious in the beginning but help save hours and hours of work in the long run. I have always been asked my friends, coworkers, or fellow students how to solve this Word problem or how they could do this in Excel. Since I had (and still have) the feeling that people tend to ask over and over again, especially when they don't need the particular information every day, instead of remembering it. This led me to the creation of this website and the publication of my first e-book "The Ultimate Guide to Writing Scientific Theses Using Word 2007".
All This Is Great But How Does This Help Me And Why Should I Care?
It is actually up to each and everyone to make the best use of their time. With the above mentioned e-book "The Ultimate Guide to Writing Scientific Theses Using Word 2007" I offer my knowledge that I gained over the years, condensed to under 100 pages. Obviously, this does not allow for an in-depth manual for any software but that is exactly my point.
Nobody wants to read 500 or more pages to see what great things Word 2007 or other programs can do when you have specific problems that you would like to have solved. If you have to dig deep and flip through a lot of unrelated information only to find something that is vaguely resembling a solution... that's frustrating! I mean, if you are already on edge because those darn graphics keep on jumping all over your page and the numbers of your figures are all messed up - would you really want to read general, cryptic instructions how things could have worked? Or do you prefer to get a ready-to-use solution? This short guide will help you with concrete examples and tutorials that will help you. If you are not convinced check out the free sample guide that I offer!
Sincerely,
Sven Enterlein
